They’re having the best “Holiday” ever.
Madonna, in her own words, is living La Dolce Vita—she headed to Italy for her 66th birthday celebrations this year with all six of her children in tow. While Madonna often incorporates her kids into her tour life and shares glimpses of them on Instagram, a full family picture is rare—but the pop icon provided exactly that in her latest post.
On August 19, three days after her birthday, the “Holiday” singer shared a series of nighttime snaps that featured picturesque moments from her Italian getaway to Instagram. Some of the photos featured a look at her OOTDs and her son, Rocco Ritchie, posing with her beside a cake for his 24th birthday, while other snaps featured 11-year-old twins, Stella and Estere, sweetly posing together. During a friends and family dinner, Madonna posed with all the children—Rocco; Stelle; Estere; Lourdes “Lola” Leon, 27; David Banda, 18; and Mercy James, 18.
Earlier this month, she also celebrated Rocco’s birthday with a dedicated Instagram post on August 11. “HAPPY BIRTHDAY ROCCO—the long and Winding Road through all your many moods and incarnations has been tumultuous and full of surprises. But through it all—your curiosity, and Artistic Soul has been the glue that has held us together,” she captioned a series of carousel images throughout his life. “Thank God for Art. Thank God for you. We have been together for many lifetimes. Thank you for choosing me again. I Love you—for Eternity.”
While reflecting on her career-spanning Celebration Tour in April—where some of her children have made cameos on stage—Madonna said, “I think what my children learned the most in this year of rehearsing and performing is that if you want to follow your dreams, you have to work hard for them. And if all of them choose something different later in life, they will never forget this year of blood, sweat, and tears.”
