Homes and structures are burning as relentless, wind-swept wildfires continue to devastate the Pacific Palisades neighborhood of Los Angeles and Altadena, a community near Pasadena, California. The fires, driven by ferocious winds and dry conditions, have created a chaotic and harrowing scene as residents scramble to escape towering flames and thick clouds of smoke.
Amid the escalating crisis, actor Chris Pratt took to social media with an emotional plea, urging the public to pray for the residents, first responders, and everyone affected by the devastating Southern California wildfires.
Marvel Actor Chris Pratt Asked The Public For Prayers For All Of Those Affected
Wildfires erupted Tuesday evening near a nature preserve in the foothills northeast of Los Angeles, spreading at an alarming rate. “Please send prayers and strength tonight to everyone in Los Angeles affected by these devastating fires,” Pratt wrote in an Instagram post. “Los Angeles is in a state of emergency and over 30,000 have been ordered to evacuate.”
The situation grew so dire that staff at a senior living center had to evacuate dozens of residents in wheelchairs and hospital beds. In a dramatic display of resilience, elderly residents—one as old as 102—were pushed down the street to a nearby parking lot. Wrapped in blankets and still in their bedclothes, they waited under an ominous red sky as embers fell around them until ambulances, buses, and even construction vans arrived to transport them to safety.
