A Woman Was Banned From Boarding Her Flight for Wearing a Bikini

A 21-year-old woman alleges that she was denied boarding at the airport due to her attire, sparking a widespread debate online. Despite providing an explanation for her clothing choice, she maintained that the decision was unjust.

Kine-Chan, a Brazilian model and cosplayer, attended an event dressed as Rebecca from Cyberpunk: Edgerunners (2022). Her outfit consisted of a black bikini, a blue wig, and black sandals. After the event, she proceeded to Navegantes Airport in Brazil to catch a flight but claims she was prevented from boarding because her attire was deemed “inappropriate.”

Chan took to Instagram to share her experience, expressing her frustration. “I had a very unpleasant experience this weekend,” she wrote. “I attempted to board my flight at Navegantes Airport wearing a Rebecca cosplay for an event. Since I was already running late, I chose to travel in my costume to save time and head directly to my accommodation. However, I was instructed to return home and change because my outfit was considered ‘inappropriate.’”

Her post quickly gained attention, leading to a divided response from her followers. Some critics suggested that her choice of attire was unsuitable for air travel, with one commenter advising, “Kine, I love you, but you could have worn something simple over your outfit, like a loose dress or a button-up shirt.”

Conversely, others defended her, arguing that she should not have been barred from boarding. One supporter commented, “It’s disheartening to hear that the airport denied you entry because of such an impressive cosplay. Artistic expression and personal freedom should always be valued and respected.”

Air travel is often a stressful experience, and passenger etiquette continues to be a contentious topic. In a separate viral incident, a TikTok user shared her reasoning for refusing to give up her seat to a mother traveling with two children, igniting another heated debate on airline courtesy.
