Zhao Lusi

Zhao Lusi’s close friend recently shared updates about the actress’s condition. She has lost her ability to speak and is temporarily paralyzed, unable to walk.

According to Sina, on the evening of December 28, a friend of Zhao Lusi named Wei Xiao provided an update on the actress’s current state. Earlier, Zhao Lusi was photographed being hospitalized in a frail condition, unable to stand.

Wei Xiao revealed that Zhao Lusi is gradually regaining her ability to speak and has begun standing up for rehabilitation exercises.

“Zhao Lusi asked me to let everyone know that her condition is gradually stabilizing, hoping this news can ease everyone’s worries. So far, she has started talking again and begun standing up to practice rehabilitation. We all feel incredibly lucky and happy. Over the past few days, she has actively cooperated with hospital treatment. Initially, there were plans for long-term monitoring as per the doctor’s advice, but recent progress over the past two days may lead to adjustments. We all hope for a positive outcome in the end,” Wei Xiao shared on Zhao Lusi’s behalf.

Despite her severe condition, Zhao Lusi has encouraged her friends, asking them not to cry. Her warmth and kindness have deeply touched her fans.

It is clear that Zhao Lusi’s condition is serious. She has temporarily lost her ability to speak and walk, possibly due to a mild stroke. She now requires time to recover.

Additionally, Wei Xiao’s post revealed that Zhao Lusi had shown signs of health instability prior to this incident. When they met on her birthday, November 9, Wei Xiao noticed that Zhao Lusi’s health and mental state were not good. After joining the production team of Lovers in early December, the incident occurred on December 18.

Notably, Wei Xiao also stated that “the truth behind this incident requires accountability and clarification,” suggesting that there may be hidden factors related to Zhao Lusi’s hospitalization.

“Regarding her condition and the truth behind it, at this point, it should not be up to me, a friend, to recount everything that happened, nor should Lusi have to reopen her wounds to explain. We hope someone will step forward to take responsibility and clarify everything,” Wei Xiao added.

This statement has fueled public speculation that Zhao Lusi’s health problems might be linked to issues within the Lovers production team. Previously, well-known Chinese entertainment blogger Liu Daichui revealed that Zhao Lusi faced immense difficulties and pressure while filming under director Deng Ke. Deng is known for his works such as Bright FutureFlight to You, and The Longest Promise.

According to Liu Daichui, Zhao Lusi discovered after some time on set that the script being filmed was different from the one she originally received. This type of “bait-and-switch” is not uncommon in Chinese film projects. Even major stars like Zhao Liying have publicly criticized similar situations, such as during the filming of Legend of Fei.

When Zhao Lusi confronted director Deng Ke and his wife, the main producer, to demand adherence to the original script, her concerns were ignored.

Moreover, Liu Daichui reported that director Deng Ke was rarely present on set, leaving the shooting to an unknown assistant director. This deceptive practice of “borrowing big names” is also common in the industry. While famous directors are publicly listed, inexperienced deputies often handle the actual production.

Zhao Lusi reportedly poured her heart into the project, but the disappointment and frustration led to her feeling depressed. After her hospitalization, it was rumored that the Lovers production was put on hold after just over a month of filming. The remaining scenes will be rescheduled once Zhao Lusi recovers.

Zhao Lusi herself has previously mentioned during livestreams that she frequently reads public feedback, both positive and negative, to improve herself. However, this habit has also caused emotional distress, contributing to her struggles with depression. Recently, the failure of her drama My Journey to You has drawn criticism of her acting, accusing her of prioritizing appearances over performance and falling short compared to her peer Esther Yu.
